OBSIP Data Release Process

All OBSIC experiment data is stored at the IRIS Data Management Center (DMC). Data is checked for completeness by the OMO after being uploaded to the DMC, and any subsequent changes to the data are announced via the OBSICtec network. To check for changes made to SEED metadata at the DMC, refer to the Metadata Change Web Service. Data is sequestered for use by the experiment Principal Investigator and becomes open to the public after two years. Some experiments, such as the Cascadia Amphibious Array community experiment, become available to all researchers immediately.

The DMC holds data from both passive and active experiments, in SEED and SEG-Y formats respectively. Some data sets are also archived as PH5. Data is most easily accessed using the DMC Metadata Aggregator.
